I've been collecting guns for years but my go-to is this used 1911 I picked up a while back. I know it inside and out and for me, it aims great. The trigger is perfect and it always works no matter how much I use it.. It's not pretty but it's the one I trust and shoot the most...any one else got a favourite?

I have a stainless Ruger Bisley Blackhawk in 45 LC . I like double actions better. Like a 1911 because it can be carried condition 1 ( cocked and locked) and it's relatively flat so it conceals well. But for some reason,I really like that 4 5/8 single action. I can load 200 grain bullets for plinking and rabbits and 270 grain for larger critters.

I use mine because it just feels right...the trigger is super clean and the recoil is what you expect. If you have good skills, it makes you look good

My Ruger 22-Charger always goes to the range with me 99.99% of the time. Mainly because of the sheer fun factor of the gun and I know it inside and out. If SHTF it would be the gun I grab to take with me. It is quite reliable and I know I can make hits where it is needed.

Does sticking to one type of gun make you bad with others?
This is somewhat of a loaded question. What kind of guns are you talking about? I have found that switching back and forth between rifles/pistols and then shotguns, or vice versa causes issues. This is because the techniques involved in shooting the different types of firearm are completely different. A shotgun is a point and slap the trigger firearm, Rifles and pistols are aim and press the trigger while keeping the sights aligned. Being primarily a rifle and pistol person I gave up trap shooting because I can't hit the broad side of a barn aiming and squeezing. The only thing that I use a shotgun for these days is turkey hunting because aim and pressing the trigger works well under those conditions. My humble advice is choose one type and stick with it.
