Picked up this Service Six in rough shape a few years ago. Cleaned it up and did some repairs, then dressed it up with new shoes. Shoots POA at 15 yards. She's a keeper. I haven't brought it to a BBQ but I have taken it on a few hikes into the north woods of New Hampshire.

Nice job on those grips in the photo. My BBQ gun is a polished S&W Model 19 with stag grips. It shoots .357 Mag really tight at 25 yards. I bring it to range days just to show off, but it's way too pretty for everyday carry. Are you planning to polish yours up even more for special occasions?

The Police Service Six had quite a few handling marks, or maybe I should say fumble finger marks from being dropped on pavement. I was able to blend those blemishes with a 3-M pad to make it almost look stock. I'm happy with the finish as is.

That's a good find, nothing like bringing an old revolver back to life. Looks like it's running great. How does it feel carrying it on those hikes up in New Hampshire?

The weight and balance is good. I'll be working on getting my permit here in WI now. I'll test it on a walk in the woods as soon as I can.
