Game Warden Encounters and Stories

Last spring, I got pulled over by a game warden while checking my trail camera. He was super curious about my setup and we ended up chatting for half an hour. Anyone else had an unexpected bonding moment with a warden?

Every warden I've met has been really nice to talk with. I don't think they attract too many jerks, the work is not easy.

wardens years ago were jerks to say the least, they have done a 180 and the last 2 encounters with them has been very positive and I would say they were very nice guys.

Agree with Cracker57. Years ago, wardens were looking to get an admission. Get you to incriminate yourself in some way. Confrontational, at best. They have become less so in the last 10-15 years.
They do have a tough job.

I haven't encountered one in 15 years. The guy asked to see my fishing license, which i showed him. Then asked why I was fishing 70 miles from home. Why would that matter? I'll just stop here.
