Good Morning, well at least it is right now. I'm a 30 year retired Army veteran that spent 25 of those years as either a full time or part time additional duty firearm instructor. Also a long time NRA Rifle, Pistol and Muzzle Loader instructor. I reload most of my ammo as long as it's more economical to reload than buy factory. Looking for local people who like to keep their skills current. Most of my shooting is done at the Deerfield Rod & Gun Club.

It is a private club, not government or DNR sponsored thus only available to current members. Annual dues are more than reasonable. If I remember correctly adult members are $60 a year, Senior (over 60) $30 a year and Juniors (under 19) $10 a year. The outdoor rifle and pistol ranges are open from 8am to sunset every day. Trap Leagues Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. Clubhouse is open during trap leagues as well as on Sundays from 10 am to 6 pm. To join the best time to show up is during the monthly meetings which are held the first Monday of every month, doors open at 6 pm, meeting at 7 pm doors close at 9 pm. The ranges are basic, covered shooting benches on the 50 and 100 yard ranges, grass kept mowed but bugs are like they are everywhere else in Wisconsin, Bring deep woods off. Target holders are snow fence using clothes pins to mount targets or target holders. The pistol range has two shooting benches at 50 feet, shorter ranges marked. I'm always looking for someone to shoot with.

I will be moving to the Jefferson area in the near future. I'll have to make a trip out to check the range out. I had been hoping to find a good club to join. I just made the life member status here in NH at the local club. Starting over again.

When looking at the web site for Deerfield Rod and Gun club under rules it says NO guest shooters.
Deerfield is a private club owned by the members. There has never been any state, federal, local or any government money used in the construction or maintenance of the club grounds, clubhouse or ranges. Since there is no public money there is no reason to have to open the club and range to the public. In order to utilize club facilities all must be members. Membership is inexpensive, currently at $60 a year for regular members, $30 a year for senior members and $10 per year for juniors. The Pistol, 50 and 100 yard ranges are open from 0800 to sunset every day of the year. Club monthly meetings are the first Monday of each month. Doors open at 6 pm, meeting at 7 pm and usually close around 9 pm. The clubhouse is open for all club sanctioned events as well as every Sunday from 10 am usually until 6 pm. There is open shooting on the trap ranges on Sundays, membership is not required on Sundays, just pay for the clay birds you shoot.
