Morning all, new guy here from Baraboo. Excited to be part of the forum!
Thanks! Took that bison back in 2014 in South Dakota. Definitely was a dream hunt for me!Welcome love your avatar, where did you go for that bad boy?
You are definitely correct. The costs have risen dramatically since I went. That bison meat was excellent, I would absolutely love to do it again one day. That is awesome that you did your hunt with a Sharps rifle. I took mine with a lever action Marlin 444S.Very good. I was just curious as I did a Bison hunt in southeastern Montana, '04 and '05 I believe, complete with a sharps rifle. I'm glad I went when I did, like anything/EVERYTHING else, it has gotten cost prohibited, and, Good eaten that Bison meat![]()
Very nice! I do have a Marlin 1895MR which is chambered in .450 Marlin. Fantastic round. I took my bison with a 280gr bonded core soft point.Yes my sharps was chambered in the 40-65 WCF. I used a cast soft pint 350gr, Not original to sharps but the ballistic equivalent to the 40 caliber sharps cartridges. I will say in '05 I took anther, but like you a lever, Marlin, a original 1972 1st year production '1895 45/70, that to with cast bullets, 400gr LBT LFN.
