Perfect carry revolver?

What’s your top pick for a carry revolver, and what makes it your favorite? I’m interested in hearing from those who carry revolvers regularly about what performs best in everyday situations.

Charter Arms Bulldog .44 Spl. Although you hear a lot of varied experiences with this model, mine is decently tight, reliable, and accurate enough to fulfill its purpose. I paid $75.00 for it about 35 years ago at a gun show in Memphis, and it is one of the last ones I'd let go of now. And the .44 Spl is perfectly adequate for a defense round.

For general carry I prefer 3" l frame sized guns. Specifically, the 686 Plus or GP100s. For my height they are the right size to shoot comfortably and draw efficiently from a belt holster.

I pocket carry a Ruger SP101 with a 2.25" barrel. That's a more recent change to my options.

NAA Mini rides along with me quite nicely.

If I am going somewhere with the need for more gun then the Ruger comes along.

Well, I couldn't get away from NH without adding one more firearm to my collection... Charter Arms Pathfinder 22Lr. I was able to make a quick stop at the range to function test the little revolver. It seems to prefer the CCI Minimags most (so far).
I will further test what ammo it likes once in Wisconsin. (Counting down the days)

My top pick is a compact S&W 642, it is light, snag-free, reliable DAO trigger, and easy to conceal.

I carry a Colt Detective Special in .38 special every day. I'm a funeral attendant and I use a shoulder holster. I cut the speed loader pockets off the right web. It's very comfortable. Outside of that I have a simple Bianchi belt holster.

Hi Jeff, Not really trying to be a smart ass, well maybe I shouldn't say that since this question is going to sound like it. I have a curiosity as to why a funeral attendant needs to carry a Detective Special??? Isn't it a bit too late for your customers??? Is the neighborhood of the funeral home in a place where jewelry to be buried with the deceased at risk of theft?

Likely the same reason why a church now has the need for an armed security team... As an assistant paster and an elder I carried both a small handgun and an edged weapon at every event I attended, as did at least one other elder and a deacon... Just incase... Sometimes questionable people show up off the highway looking for cash or gasoline. I would imagine there are times when family members come in when they are not on best terms with with the rest of the family. ???

Churches seem to be a popular target for disturbed individuals these days. They, like schools, are gathering spots for innocent people who are unarmed and are lambs ready for slaughter. There is also the, "My God is better than your God syndrome" to deal with. If you go back in history, you find there is a religious aspect to almost every war. Of course the study of history is not something that our schools feel is important to teach these days.

There are also political factors to consider too. In my humble opinion, there are political conspiracies involved in most of these shooting.There is one political factor trying to make the other look bad. Then there are those who try to make things like Gun Control look enticing to the general and uninformed and poorly educated masses.

How you are built and where you carry will determine the right frame size. I prefer a K frame Smith in a Bianchi X15 holster.
