News from the DNR indicates Lake Michigan appears great in a boat, not bad in some areas off piers and shore. Give it a try. I have fished off the wall out on the walk to the little lighthouse on the south end of Summerfest grounds. Right where the river comes out. If you work it a bit there is perch, browns and some salmon. Watch out though that the Cormorants don't grab your catch! Have fun. FYI, the sunrise is amazing on our side of the big lake.

Appreciate the report, hard to say no when the fishing is decent and the sunrise looks like that.

Good tip, those river mouths are always worth working especially when fish are moving along the shoreline.

I used to fish off the breakwater at Port Washington many years ago. The fishing wasn't bad, dependent on how crowded things were. I was out almost to the end fishing with Chubs using a slip bobber. When I cast the chub a Seagull saw it flying through the air with the greatest of ease, and thought it would be a nice tender morsel for it's breakfast. It grabbed the chub just before it hit the water and of course hooked itself. Now I doubt that anyone else has tried to land a unhappy seagull, but it is one heck of a battle. Lasted for maybe one or two minutes before the gull broke the 12 pound test mono that I was using and flew off into the sunset. The guy I was fishing with actually had a camera with him (Before cell phones) and took a few pictures. Unfortunately they along with most of my Army pictures were lost when the hard drive I had scanned the pictures failed. 😢
