I know of a few shotgun ranges but I am looking for a decent rifle/pistol range in Marinette County.

We recently moved to WI from Salmon, ID where I lived on a 3,000 acre beef cattle ranch and had a 75 yard pistol range behind my place and could set up to shoot at least 1,000 for rifle on the ranch.......miss that to say the least!

I am pretty sure I won't find a range much beyond 200 yards in this area.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I see its an Hr. 10 min. to Shiocton wi. from Pound. If you are up for the drive they have a city park that has a few pistol ranges and a couple rifle ranges the longest rifle range is 500 yrds. If you take the drive try it on a Thursday and after shooting go to New london and have some food at the Waters. Thursdays Surf and Turf special was a great deal and I believe old fashions were $3.50 but it has been a while. I hope you have enjoyed a Wisconsin tradition of a Friday fish fry and an old fashion.
The range is open to the public and they asked at the time for a $2.00 donation. I never had 2 bucks on me and was happy to leave a 10 or 20 for a full day of shooting. If you shoot bows take them with they have towers to shoot from ect. This is my Idea of a great city park, swimming hole, tennis court playground equipment and a great place for the big kids to play.
They are closed during the deer hunt and I am not sure who to contact to find out if and when they are open

Or Antigo Wi. is an HR. 8 minutes from pound. they have a decent range that goes to 300 yrds. never shot pistols there but I believe there is a pistol range. I did go there once to shoot and it was closed for some function and Again I have no idea who to contact.
I used to be on the road and have pretty much shot at ever public range except for the north west side of the state. I have forgotten about most.
In Antigo you shoot thru large cement culvert pipes, some hate it for the noise and it seems until you send a few down range dust and sand come off the tubes.
