To what extent have you modified your Ruger 10/22 or 22-Charger? Or not...?
Well, I have a 22-Charger that I have modified and swapped parts almost to the point of having two. Okay, confession time.... I ordered a Brownells receiver and when that arrives it will complete my build and allow me to reassemble my original Charger with its original parts. At this point, cost wise, I could have purchased a really nice custom firearm with what I have spent along the way. But, I wouldn't have had as much fun as I have had building it over the course of the past six or so years. I've done an upgrade or two then headed out to the range to test the mod, then obsess some more and looked for the next project or part then repeated the process step by step. I love how my Charger has transformed, but soon it will no longer be a Charger other than by design. I've lost track of the list of where all the components came from but I could figure it out if I had to. For the most part... JWH, KIDD, Tandemkross, PMACA, Feddersen, KAW Valley, NDZ, Copper Custom, SB-T, Ruger, and the list go's on, along with a couple do it yourself mods thanks to the forum enablers that encouraged self help. Is the build complete or done? I seriously doubt it. Someone is going to come up with the next gizmo/wizzbang for them and I'll buy into it no doubt.
Bottom line... Ruger along with the aftermarket support has made these one of the most fun guns to own IMHO.

I'm not generally a "parts changer"... But ... This Charger was purchased with the challenge to see just how accurate it could be. I knew It would transform but the rabbit hole actually went a bit farther down than I had anticipated. Now it is 100% mut.
But I will say, most of my guns have had some smithing done to some degree. Handguns get grips and sometimes an action job. Smoothing the action out without lightening the trigger commonly called a fluff and buff to make it feed reliably and clean up any internal burrs. I don't want the reliability to change. If anything I want them more reliable. This 22-Charger just went a little bit farther than it's stable mates. The changes made have paid off for the better as well.

How accurate is it. What is the group size at 100 yards?

I installed the Feddersen barrel last October and only had the time to sight it in at the 20? yards range. CCI SV was grouping well and settled in to easily being covered by a dime (5rnd group), CCI MiniMags shot a bit bigger groups. I am looking forward to doing more extensive testing with various kinds of ammo this spring and stretching the distance out to 50 yards and possibly 100. I've never done any serious rimfire target shooting at 100 yards other than shooting a 4" S&W Kit Gun at water filled gallon jugs years back.

Did some pistol shooting out at Deerfield yesterday. Tried S&W Model 66 and Sig M17, they both grouped well. Checked the sight in first bench rest then shot a full size silhouette one handed, using both left and right hands and eyes. One would not want to be an active shooter with me in the area. The 38 Super grouped well, but I need to put adjustable sights on it. Big difference in zeros at 25 and 50 yards. When I shoot the rifles at 100 I am going to bring both the 357 and M17 along to see how they do out there. Will probably use the roof support beams as a brace at 100.
