I grew up shooting a 20 gauge, and it always felt like the perfect balance, it super light, fast, and easy on the shoulder. Then I picked up a 12, and man, that power hits different. These days I grab the 12 for waterfowl and stick to the 20 for upland birds. Both get the job done if you know your gun.

You've nailed the classic shotgun conundrum, the 12 gauge vs. 20 gauge debate, It's awesome that you appreciate both and you're totally right, the 20 gauge is the nimble, lightweight champ for upland birds when you're walking miles and need quick handling. But that 12 gauge... when you've got ducks high and flying fast, that extra payload and range just gives you the confidence boost you need. You're hitting the perfect balance by matching the gauge to the game. What kind of 12 gauge load are you leaning on for waterfowl this season?
