Picked up something new today and figured I’d start a thread for others to share too. Doesn’t have to be anything big — ammo, accessories, deals you found, trades you made — if it’s gun-related, post it up. What’d you find or buy recently?

just won a auction on gunbroker for another Ruger Single Six , got to get busy and send off payment and my FFL guys info

Just yesterday stopped at an estate sale and scored a set of brand new looking RCBS .30 carbine reloading dies for $3. Same place picked up a very nice Ben Pearson 50# recurve bow in great condition for $25.

I ordered, and received 50 Privi Partizan 8mm 175 boat tail soft points for my 8mm Yugo Mauser. They were clearance priced, but I got slaughtered on shipping.

Recently acquired this Colt "Philippine" Model double action. These are mistakenly called the "Alaska" model by some.
The longer trigger and oversized trigger guard was to provide more leverage due to the heavy hammer spring installed to provide adequate power to set off the hard primers of the day. These are U.S. marked and were used by our troops in 1902 during the Philippine conflict.

They were chambered in .45 Colt and had a Colt single action army barrel/ejector and a double action frame.

There were 4,600 of them shipped to the military.

I just picked up a low-profile red dot and a couple boxes of match-grade .223. It really tightened up my groups

My only concern is how quickly small purchases add up. Between ammo, mags, and accessories, the budget disappears fast. How do you guys keep spending in check?

I've been there @Gabe , little buys stack up quick. I set a monthly ammo/accessory budget, track sales, and only upgrade gear after practice proves the need. It helps keep my wallet and range time balanced

Also retired... If I get to the point that I need a side hustle to keep out of trouble a part time job should take care of the problem. In the mean time staying debt free and saving for my purchases is my plan of action.

Well, last night I ordered a couple things... Wood grips for my S&W 2214 from Thing Meister Fabrication and a 10" tapered barrel for my Ruger Charger-22 from Feddersen.
Now scouting out a few boxes of Aguila 60gr 22Lr ammo. Not in a hurry for the ammo though.

And I continue... ebay shopping ... Charter arms parts kit and trigger frame that fits all 38spl and 22Lr models. I was wanting an aluminum grip frame to replace the polymer one and the complete kit was the same price as just the frame listed by others. Then a nice set of Walnut Herrett grips for that same revolver, because who doesn't like a set of quality wood grips. Not going wild here, just catching up.

I didn't realize Vortex was that close... Do they have good prices in their showroom?
Yes, Vortex is just a hop, skip and a jump down Hwy 18/151 in Barneveld. If you look to the South when coming up on Highway ID you can't help but see the Vortex complex. As for pricing, it's as published unless you are military/veteran/first responder/police. The discounts are substantial. The big thing is that you get to try before you buy. Everything they have is on display and on working stocks and handguns, spotting scopes and binoculars and for the most part immediately available for purchase.

IF you care to post pictures it will be interesting to see it after you've got it set up
The scope was not for the Model 66. It is for a Tikka T1x. It is a Vortex Diamondback Tactical 4 - 24 x 50. I have been told that there is no need for a scope like that on a .22. My philosophy is, If you can't see it, you can't hit it. If you can see the target clearly at 4 power then thats all one needs, but there is always the option of 24 which brings the target, whatever it is, up close and personal.

My orders came in ... Wood grips for my S&W 2214 came ... Beautifully well done. Fit and finish is perfect.
I am waiting for my work bench to be delivered to my new place to install the new barrel on my Charger-22. The Walnut grips for my Charter Arms revolver need some minor fitting. It will only take a little file work on the wood panels and maybe a bit of twist drill to make the pocket for the pin slightly deeper. Again waiting on the workbench in the garage. Cleanup will be easier there.
