Sometimes you just don't want to go to something. I've perfected the "truck's acting up, gotta deal with it" excuse. Works every time because it's always somewhat true. What's your go-to excuse that people actually believe? Keep it real, we all do this sometimes.

Best excuse in the world... I'm old, I am sick, and it hurts! I find that constant napping is helpful. Truthfully, for my entire working life it was "I have work to do", "Nuts, already planned another chore today", "I have to go to the range today... you know [fill in name] is having a really hard time with [fill in subject] and wants to talk with me". All end the same... "but I'll get right on it [fill in when]. :sneaky:

I'm one of those people that will do what I say I will do so when I make plans that involve others unless I am truly sick, I will be there. This does however mean that I will check my calendar to make sure there are no conflicts before committing to something. This also means that I will simply say no, if it is something I would rather not take part in or like in this weather it involves an opportunity for frostbite or hypothermia. In that case I will inform you that it's too cold out and I am not going to poke my nose outside the door even on the day of the appointment. I used to be a person who could never say NO, and a lot of people took advantage of that. I am older and wiser these days.
