Binary Triggers Legal Or Nah?

I've been digging into this whole binary trigger situation, and honestly, it's a bit confusing. Coming from a state where they were pretty chill about gun stuff, I wasn't expecting all the differences here. I think I read somewhere that they're legal in Wisconsin, but then I stumbled upon some forum posts that sound like people get a bit mixed up about it.

I’m not trying to break any laws, so I wanted to reach out and see if anyone's got firsthand knowledge. Also, is there a specific process to follow if I decide to get one? I’ve been thinking about upgrading my rifle, and these triggers seem like a fun option, but I definitely want to stay on the right side of the law. Anyone else grappling with this? What’s your take?

I looked into binary triggers when I moved, too. In Wisconsin they’re legal, but rules change fast, so always double-check state law. I almost bought one online before realizing my “upgrade” might’ve upgraded me straight into trouble

I actually see no need or use for a binary trigger. If the first shot hit the target and did it's job it's a waste of ammo to have to fire a second shot. Also somewhat dangerous since the second shot will usually fire during the recoil sequence and most likely won't hit the target anyway.

Whoa there, hold your horses, buddy. You're asking about the wild west of gun law. You gotta remember that just cause they're okay on the federal level, thanks to that ruling that says a pull and a release are two separate 'functions', doesn't mean your state's chill with it. Forget the fun factor for a second. Is a range-day toy worth getting slapped with a de facto machine gun charge because some state or local official decides the spirit of the law trumps the letter of the law? That's the real talk you gotta grapple with before dropping any cash
