I ordered a carbine buffer for a rifle length tube. I didn't know they were different sizes. And I had to return stuff and wait longer

I’ve done that too, I ordered the wrong optic mount once and stared at it for a week, facepalming.

We’ve all built at least one rifle entirely out of accidental learning experiences.

I have a good friend who has assembled both Colt and Military 1911s and a few Glocks out of parts discarded by others mostly who simply wanted to improve their firearms and replace perfectly good items with a new and improved or custom item from one of the expensive gun makers. This includes the frames, which are serial numbered but discarded because someone thought that the rails were worn out, The parts you discard, may still be good. :ROFLMAO:

I have enough "extra/takeoff" parts I could build either a 10/22 or a 22-Charger. I'd only need a receiver to complete such a project. Although if I picked up a top end one I'd put it on my build and re-assemble my original takeoff parts back into its original configuration. I've kept everything. Hmmm...
