Guns I bought just to complete a collection

I bought a .40 S&W just because I had 9mm and .45 ACP and felt like I should have all three service calibers represented. I've shot it maybe twice. It doesn't do anything my other guns don't do better. Sometimes we buy guns for completionist reasons that make no practical sense, and that's okay, hobbies don't have to be practical.

 Yeah, I've got a couple of those sitting around myself. They mostly seem to fill a gap on a spreadsheet more than in actual us but I don't really regret having them, all the same.

A long time ago I started collecting Remington 1100 shotguns. My idea was to have one of each gauge from 410 to 12 mag. The 12, 2 3/4 and 3 inch were easy as was the 20 ga both in the 2 3/4 and 3 inch, the more difficult were the 16 and 28. When I finally acquired a 28 ga, for more than I wanted to pay for it only the 410 was left. There were 410 bore 1100's available, but based on the prices that owners were asking for any in decent shape exceeded the entire cost of the collection to that point, I metaphorically stuck up the middle finger on my left hand. I sold all of them with the exception of the 20 ga 2 3/4 inch Skeet, which is still sitting in my gun vault. It is in very good condition so if anyone is interested asking $700 or best offer. You will need to have a concealed carry permit in order to purchase.

That’s a cool collection journey, sometimes the hunt for completion ends up changing priorities entirely.
