Now my question... what do you catch with them and how do you rig them? Never used leeches.

From our friends online, says it best..."Leeches are premier live bait for catching walleye, smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, trout, and channel catfish. Their natural undulation, particularly in water over 50°F, makes them irresistible, especially when fished slowly on jigs, Lindy rigs, or under bobbers along rocky points and vegetation edges."

I suspect by now you know I had all of the same questions once upon a time.

I have never tried leech trapping myself. The adults spawn early spring then die off by June when the water warms up.

It's been years since we trapped leeches, but I remember being out as soon as the ponds opened up and it seems to me that we were done by August. I know we still trapped on the 4th of July.
